Two years ago, my husband and I were tasked with selling the apartment of his late father in Claridge House 1, Verona, N.J. Since we were living in PA at the time and knew nothing about market conditions in N.J., it was imperative that we list the apartment with a realtor we could trust completely. Luckily, someone in the elevator in Claridge House overheard us talking about the difficulties confronting us and passed Gerri Leventhal’s name and number to us. He said “You’ll love Gerri and she WILL be able to sell your apartment.”
We were unable to put the apartment on the market until late spring of 2013. However, we had been in touch with Gerri and she gave us valuable advice about staging the place so it would show well. Additionally, she directed us to a Claridge staff person who was invaluable in doing repairs and painting at very reasonable prices (NJ residents know how horrifically expensive repairs can be). Once we signed papers with Gerri, she began aggressively marketing the apartment and showing it frequently. She held our hands through two unsuccessful offers (prospective buyers could not demonstrate sufficient funds to purchase) and was with us all the way when the third successful buyer made an offer. She interacted on our behalf with other realtors and various attorneys. We could always count on Gerri to keep us informed and up-to-date as the sale progressed. Even after the sale, Gerri continued to intervene on our behalf to have an escrow fund, which was rightfully ours, returned to us. It turned out the attorney holding the fund thought she could just keep the money! We did eventually get our money back.
It is hard to think of anything more Gerri could have done to move this apartment sale to its favorable conclusion. We would highly recommend Gerri Leventhal to anyone who needs a realtor to sell any piece of property. She is knowledgeable, professional, and tackles her job with a great deal of energy. We consider her to be our friend and have invited her to visit us in our new Tennessee home. Without including our phone number in this document, we give her our permission to give it to anyone who may wish to speak to us directly.
