Hartshorn Neighborhood in Short Hills NJ

Bordering the Glenwood Section in Short Hills is the historic Hartshorn Neighborhood more commonly known as “Old Short Hills”. This is where the original founder Stewart Hartshorn  built the first home in Short Hills, New Jersey.  Mr. Hartshorn  wanted his new community to be close enough to New York City for daily travel but far enough away so “people could live in harmony with nature.” Mr. Hartshorn had a vision and he literally built Short Hills with his own hands and paid for the first railroad into New York City with his personal money.

Hartshorn homes can still be found in Old Short Hills today. These are very special properties, known for their architectural beauty, stately proportions and convenience to New York City. These estates can sell anywhere from $1,000,000-$10,000,000 and they often have over an acre of land. Learn more about Short Hills NJ Real Estate or call to tour Short Hills Homes
