Chatham NJ was first settled in the 1720′s along the Indian Minisink Trail. The community soon began to thrive and Chatham NJ Real Estate became known amongst New Yorkers as one of the most popular New York Suburbs. The coming of the Essex and Morristown Railroad in the late 1830′s led this tremendous growth spurt in Chatham. By 1843, Chatham NJ Homes were being built all over and the community was developing into a town. Large Queen Anne Victorians, brick colonials, Cape Cods filled the streets and there were two trains a day connecting Chatham NJ Real Estate and New York City.
By 1892 Chatham Village (a small community within Chatham Township) found itself at odds with the rest of the town. The village had to raise its own money to install kerosene street lamps and its roads were in poor repair. As a result, Chatham Village seceded from the township and five years later it became Chatham Borough.Today the zip code 07928 consists of all Chatham NJ Real Estate.
