Upper Montclair NJ is a small but interesting community . It is a well known New York Suburb, close to Manhattan, offering a fabulous magnet school system and some beautiful homes. The neighborhoods are mixed with modest size colonials, large mansions on Upper Mountain Avenue, and charming tudors found in the Fairway neighborhood. The Fairway neighborhood is walking distance to Brookdale Park. For those of you who don’t know Brookdale Park, it is our largest park in Upper Montclair and hosts many of Montclair’s community activities.
Brookdale Park is the center for Upper Montclair activities for most of the year. The local schools have baseball practice and football practice in the park. For the grown ups, the park has free concerts all summer long, as well as the famous “Art in the Park” weekend, where all the local artists come out and showoff their crafts. July 4th Montclair has a parade which runs through the park where the local Montclair Band is featured. Brookdale Park has something for everyone in Montclair. For dog lovers the park also houses two enclosed dog parks, 1 for large dogs and 1 for smaller, a beautiful rose garden, three tennis courts, a new children’s playground and a new running track.
The park breaks up Upper Montclair NJ Real Estate from both Glen Ridge NJ and Bloomfield NJ. Although us Montclair Residents like to take ownership of Brookdale Park, truth be told Bloomfield and Glen Ridge residents enjoy the park as much as local Montclair residents.
If considering Upper Montclair NJ Real Estate and thinking about buying a home, I would recommend driving through Brookdale Park, you won’t be disappointed.
